這款新系列雪茄預(yù)計(jì)9月份向美國的零售商發(fā)貨,，10月份向國際市場發(fā)貨,。
Making cigars since the Nixon administration, Joya de Nicaragua turned 55 this year and the company is celebrating with a new brand called Cinco de Cinco. It’s the fourth release under Joya’s Obras Maestras series and it will be on display this weekend at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas.
Cinco de Cinco translates to “five out of five.” It’s an obvious nod to the company’s age, and Joya de Nicaragua’s executive vice president Juan Ignacio Martínez adds the claim that the blend “is a five out of five in profile and complexity; full bodied and medium strength…”
Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco is made from a blend of Mexican San Andrés wrapper around Nicaraguan tobaccos that Ignacio says are at least five years old. Packaged in glossy emerald-green boxes of 10, the new brand comes in five sizes, only three of which will be available in the United States: Corona Extra, measuring 6 1/4 by 46 ring gauge, a 6-by-52 Toro and the Robusto Gordo at 5 1/2 by 54. They have suggested retail prices of $16, $20 and $18, respectively.
International markets will be receiving the same three sizes, plus two more exclusives only offered outside the U.S.: A 7-by-54 Corona Doble ($21) and a Robusto at 5 by 50 ($16).
The Obras Maestras series includes the Cuatro Cinco brand, launched in 2013; Cinco Decadas released in 2017 for the company’s 50th anniversary and 2019’s Número Uno. Número Uno has performed particularly well in our taste tests, as the L’Ambassadeur size was Cigar Aficionado’s No. 6 cigar of 2020. A one-time, limited-edition toro called Dos Cientos from 2021 was also part of Obras Maestras, but that cigar is no longer produced.
Joya de Nicaragua intends to ship Cinco de Cinco to U.S. retailers in September, followed by a global release in October.
